So you’ve tried hiking, and realized you liked it? Good for you! Now that you’ve had some short hikes, are you ready to try a more substantial trail? How exciting! Now comes the fun part. Deciding where to hike.
You have unlimited options, so enjoy exploring them. It is probably smart to decide what your goals are for this hike. Do you want to explore a new geographical area? Challenge yourself to new heights? Hike a longer trail? Once you have narrowed down your hiking goals, you are all the closer to your destination.
If you are newer to hiking, keep in mind that while it’s good to challenge yourself, don’t take on a mountain summit until you are fully prepared. You might be better served choosing a less strenuous trail in a beautiful location. It will still be a challenge, but it will not be overwhelming. Jeremy and I have enjoyed numerous hikes over the years, and we have chosen them based on our abilities.
