For the second year in a row, we ditched Black Friday.
It felt great to #OptOutside today! One of our favorite parks in Lima, Ohio, where we are from, is Kendrick Woods. Jeremy and I used to come here when we were first dating, and our son had two birthday parties there growing up. We have also attended multiple reunions and graduation parties there. It has a beautiful lake, multiple shelter houses, a fun playground for the kiddos, and over 5 miles of hiking trails.
Today Chloe, Chewie, and I hiked the South Trail at the park. It winds through wooded paths along a flood plain that we explored. There was lots of evidence of animal activity, including raccoon and deer tracks, and deer scratches on trees. It was a truly cool experience.
Compared to last year’s 20 degree weather, today’s mid 50’s was incredible! The last time Jeremy and I hiked at Kendrick Woods was 1992. It truly is a special place to us, still today, and I was glad that Chloe went there with me today. We saw seven other people, which was nice to see that many people #OptOutside on Black Friday.
The All People’s Trail is handicap accessible with wooden planks. If you are around this area, I highly recommend checking out this park.
